Summer 2010

This has been a great summer for us.  We have been in such wonderful churches. The kids have gotten the opportunity to go to children's camp. We are looking forward to VBS with Bible Baptist Church in Dequincy, LA; many churches; and Missionary Reunion before the end of the summer.

We are gearing up for starting homeschooling soon. We have began get things together for our container. Shopping for clothing for four years for four kids is a challenge. Please pray for us in these last few months that we can be a blessing every where we go and that Christ might be exhalted through our witness.

March News

Our conferences in 2010 have been awesome. God has blessed us with wonderful churches. We were with Cypress Creek Baptist church and the kids were given “money machines”. This was a fun treat. We were with Cornerstone Baptist in Mesquite and they made a generous donation toward our moving expenses. The last week of February, we left the kids in Sweetwater with Christy’s sister and went to a conference in Richmond, GA. This church was also a great blessing. God has place us in just the right churches all across America. We are so blessed to see churches who despite the economy want to see the gospel carried around the world. In one word it is : HUMBLING.

Praise:
Almost Every Church in the month of February has started sending their support!!
Faithfulness of Churches
New Churches

Prayer:
Unsaved Family
Kid’s schooling
Continued Partnerships
Traveling Mercies
Please continue to pray about what your church can do to help us with moving expenses !!

02/01/10

We celebrated Karlee's 8th birthday! We were in AWESOME churches. We are so blessed to have "family" all around the country!

01/08/10

Happy New Year! Wow 2010! We can hardly believe we have less than a year left in the states. God is so good. Last time I said we hoped to be at 60% by the end of the year. Wednesday December 23rd that seemed impossible we only had a few days left in the month before the books were closed on 2009. Mike checked our account the next Wednesday and we exceeded 60%. GOD IS GOOD and does things in his time!!

We were able to have a nice last Christmas with family. We spent Christmas at Christy's parents and her brother and sister's families came in from out of state. It was a good last Christmas in the states. The kids are all doing great. Kylee celebrated her 15th birthday on December 25th. Hunter celebrated his 9th birthday on December 28th.

Kylee had a great trip to Portugal. She was able to give her testimony at a youth activity. She is planning to write a letter telling all about it.

We have a very tight schedule over the next few months. Please pray for strength, health and safety!

12/12/2009

We are in Petal, Ms until the first of the year. Our bookings are all in the area. Today I am setting in the RV watching it rain outside while enjoying a hot cup of coffee taking it easy.

I want to thank ALL who has partnered with us this year. We hope to be at 60% by the end of the year. We will see how that goes. God may have other plans. When we leave at the end of the month God has booked us solid till the first Sunday in November and pray-fully by then we will have raised all of our support.

We love you and thank God for you.....

We had back to back conferences for both October and November. We were very busy but blessed by some wonderful churches. During this busy time Mike received a call that his brother in law (his oldest sister’s husband) had overdosed and was on life support he later died. Shorlt after that phone call he received a call that his aunt died. We drove all night to be in Purvis, MS for his brother in law’s funeral. Then, Mike was able to preach his aunt’s funeral. He flew to Houston from Gulfport, MS. While in the Houston airport he asked a security guard for directions the security guard asked him why he was in town. Mike shared that his Aunt had passed away. He then went to wait for his uncle to pick him up 30 feet away. The security guard came over to where he was standing and said, “Sir, where do you go when you die?” Mike was able to share with the man how he could do to heaven. The guard prayed in the middle of Houston airport and accepted Christ. It was awesome to be given such an opportunity. Mike was tired and worn down but this sure lifted his spirit.

We are so Thankful for all God has allowed us to experience this year. Deputation is a faith building time. We are thankful for all of you and your faithfulness to send missionaries around the world so that the whole world may know about our Savior. We are thankful for our health God has allowed us to get by with only minor illness. We are so thankful that God uses everyone who will allow themselves to be used! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Temple Baptist Church Albuquerque, New Mexico did an awesome job putting on their missions conference. The ladies were spoiled on Wednesday with pedi/ mani. We had a great time getting to know everyone. The staff and members put on a drama on Friday night that was exceptional! Pastor Gurule and his wife, Mrs. Mari were such an inspiration. Their daughters and their husbands were also such a blessing. The Seronos take care of maintenance at the church and were such a blessing. Mrs. Amis the church secretary was great. We were so blessed by the people and their excitement for missions.  Our children felt so loved and blessed. It is so awesome to go to a church and make new friends that will be praying for our ministry. We were in the conference with the Morrows, Orricks, and Fortners and had a great time getting to know them. God is doing great things through the people of TBC.

We left MO headed to Kansas then down to Fort Worth. The conference at Northwest Baptist Church was Awesome. We feel so blessed to make new friends as we travel. Karlee, Kelsey, and Hunter found new buds. It is always hard to leave our new friends. There were tears on our last night.

We then headed to Gulfport, MS in the van (to save gas)~ made us really appreciate our home on wheels :) We forgot lots of stuff :( We were able to stop in Petal and visit the grands. Mike had a chance to visit with his dad. Please continue to pray for our family members. We had to have the van in the shop for blownout tire & wheel bearing replacement but God is gracious and allowed us to make it to Petal before we had the problems!!

BBC Gulfport is a great church, we enjoyed the southern hospitality. We had the opportunity to see a man come to know Christ Sunday morning! That is what it is all about. We feel  so blessed to be able to be with such great churches who are allowing God to do great things throught them all across the US.

Thanks for your prayers we can feel them!!!

We had a GREAT time at ABT in Aurora, MO. This church has a heartbeat for Missions. We were so blessed by the spirit of these people. God is doing great things through them. The youngest to the oldest was involved in the conference. The Hillhouses were such gracious hosts to our family. We had a great time out in the country. The kids enjoyed roaming free!!

We have had a great summer. Many new partners in minstry. We will have been on deputation for one year next month. We were approved in Sept. 2008. We are excited to see what God will do over the next 12 months; He has truly exceeded all we could have expected.

We had a fun Labor Day BBQ with MBC in Kileen, TX. Pastor Holland and his family were so nice. We even learn to play dominoes!

We met a wonderful family at Tally Road Baptist in San Antonio. They have 7 children of their own and are foster parents for 2 precious little boys. They truly had a desire to share Christ through their life. We have been priveleged to spend time with some amazing pastors and feel very blessed.

We have a busy time ahead. We have all been a little under the weather. Thank you for  your prayers that is what keeps us going.

08/24/09

We had a little accident two weeks ago. A lady rear-ended us. She had no insurance, tag, or license. We are blessed to have uninsured motorist on our insurance policy. We only had to pay the deductible. Everyone was safe, Mike was a little stiff and had to go to the chiropractor.

We hit the road on Friday for San Antonio. We have a busy fall. We praise God for the opportunity to share our burden for the lost people in Burkina Faso.

July and August are busy months for our family. Kelsey celebrated her 10th Birthday on July 23rd. On July 30th we celebrated our 15th wedding anniversary. Mike’s 34th birthday was August 6th. They younger kids went to camp in MS and Kylee went in MO. So we had a packed summer!
We began school August 10. We would like to say a special thank you to Central Baptist, Houston, TX and Halstead Baptist, Halstead, Kansas for their contribution for homeschool materials. Thanks to North Rock Baptist Topeka, KS for the DVD players the children are using for their schooling.

On May 31st, Mike received news that his grandmother (his mom’s mother) had passed away. The family asked him to do the funeral. We had to be in Mobile, AL for a conference starting Wednesday, also the day of the funeral in Little Rock, Arkansas. We had to have Kylee in MS to get her braces off which further complicated the schedule. Mike decided it was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up. He drove up and preached the funeral and gave clear presentation of the gospel. Twenty of the family members present accepted Christ! We then made our way to Mobile Thursday where two women accepted Christ. It was a great beginning to our ninth month on deputation!

Kylee had a great week at youth camp. She had a great time and came home refreshed. Thanks to all the great workers that put on the LINK Camp.
We were blessed to have 6 churches take us on for support in the month of July. I am amazed at God's goodness. We feel all of your prayers. Thanks!

07/28/09

I stand amazed week in and week out at the awesome Christians we get the opportunity to fellowship with. When we were in college we would have different missionaries come in and after seeing their burden we wanted God to "send us there". Now as we travel around we see all of the AWESOME God serving churches and say "we would love to call this home". We know God has a purpose for us and it is great to know we have you wonderful people praying for us! We love you all!

Kylee is at youth camp this week with Park Crest. Kelsey just celebrated her 10th birthday and is enjoying being the oldest while Ky is gone. Hunter and Karlee are ready to start school. We are excoted to see how God will choose to use each of them.

Pray that we can continue to be a witness while we are here in the states. We hope this is also your prayer for your life!

07/15/09

July has been great. We were able to get some much needed rest. We went to Mississippi. Our younger three children went to children's camp. We had a restful and productive time.

Candidate School Week has been a blessing. We have been able to hear things that really ministered to us. Kylee did an awesome job as babysitter this week. Pastor Wayne Barron's wife April was a special blessing to us and took our kids for the day on Wednesday.

Mike was able to preach at Park Crest it is always nice to be "home".

We feel blessed to have such a great base of churches who care about us and our family. We feel your prayers.
